What is Kasturi and how do you pronounce it?

Please read "about us" to know the Kasturi story. I hope you enjoy it. Kasturi is pronounced as Ka-Stu-Ree.

What is the Kasturi experience like?

Kasturi focuses on Breathe, Relax, Create, Enjoy! It is a 2.5 hour rejuvenating and fun experience that takes place in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Swapna (who is the host/artist) will guide you through a short mindfulness/self care session so you can feel relaxed and ready for the art project. She will then guide you through replicating the featured painting/art step by step, all while you sip on your drink of choice. You don't have to be an artist to create the painting/art, all you need is a desire to create an art piece which will be uniquely yours! You get to take it home with you along with a special surprise gift!

Do I need to sign up in advance?

Yes. Because of limited seating, signing up in advance is required. Registering on the website is the best way to get signed up. Feel free to email us if you have any queries. If a class is sold out, you can put yourself on the waitlist and we will give you a call if anything opens up. Due to last minute cancellations, we may be able to fit you in!

What is the cost of Kasturi experience/class?

The price starts from $50 depending on the class. The prices can be found on the calendar for all classes.

How long is the Kasturi experience?

Approximately 2.5 hours.

What is included in the class price?

We provide Canvases, Paint, Brushes, Easels, Aprons and the step by step instruction for the painting or creating any other art. Our guests are very special to us, so there is a surprise gift that they take home with them at the end of the class.

What is the best attire to wear?

We will provide aprons, but we recommend wearing something you wouldn't mind getting paint on- just in case! Remember- we are using acrylic paints so be sure to leave nice jackets and purses at home! Kasturi is not responsible for any paint damage.

Can I bring in my own food/drinks?

Unfortunately outside food/drinks are not allowed inside the cafe/restaurant. However you are more than welcome to purchase from an awesome selection of food and beverages they have. Worth trying! Very enjoyable to sip as you paint!

Are there any age restrictions for the Kasturi experience/class?

Yes. Anyone of the age of 12 and above is welcome to register.

What time do I need to arrive for the class?

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to get checked in, gather all of your materials, and get yourself a drink or some food to enjoy! Though you are more than welcome to buy drinks/food even while the class is in session. We just want you to enjoy and have a fun experience!

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations that occur 48 hours before the event start time may receive a full refund or a class credit for future use. No refunds or class credits will be given for cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start time. Late arrivals of 30 minutes or more can still participate, but will need to catch up on their own as the step by step guidance will not be repeated in order to respect the other guests' time. Your registration acknowledges that you have read and agree to the cancellation policy. Please reach out to us via email to cancel your reservation, so we can give the opportunity to someone on the waitlist.

When does the monthly event schedule come out?

We try to post the schedule at least three weeks in advance of the upcoming month.

I missed a painting/art project that I really wanted to paint/create. How often will you repeat it?

Please let us know! We will keep this in mind when scheduling future events.

Do you provide alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks/food?

Alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks/food are not included. However, you are free to purchase a drink of your choice from the cafe/bar/restaurant where the event is taking place.

If I come with a friend or group, can we sit together?

Yes, certainly you can sit together. Our guests have the freedom to sit wherever they prefer (keeping in mind the space allocated for the Kasturi event)!

Do I have to participate in a mindfulness/self care session or can I sit and watch and join the art

We encourage you to join us in the mindfulness/self care experience as it will help in feeling relaxed and happy. However, it is not mandatory.
